Cette pièce de tissu n’était, à l’origine, qu’un simple mouchoir parfumé, garant de l’hygiène nasale des Grecs antiques, de la noblesse française et même de Richard II d’Angleterre. C’est au XIXe siècle qu’elle émigra de la poche de pantalon vers celle de la veste de costume, et dans les années 1920 qu’elle devint un simple accessoire de mode. Cary Grant et Gary Cooper en feront, quelques décennies plus tard, un immortel symbole d’élégance.

La pochette est un accessoire raffiné qui, lorsqu’il est porté comme il se doit, réveille une silhouette en lui apportant contraste ou luminosité́. Elle peut également détourner le regard de la taille pour l’attirer vers le haut du buste, ce qui peut être intéressant dans certains cas...

Elle se porte sur tous types de vestes (blazer, veste de costume, city, urban casual ou evening wear, dans ce dernier cas, préférez les unis).

QUELQUES PETITS CONSEILS

- Le blanc est à préférer pour obtenir un effet plus formel.

- Éviter d’assortir exactement sa pochette à sa cravate (préférez soit une couleur différente, soit une variable plus claire ou plus foncée).

- Lorsque l’on ne porte pas de cravate, la pochette permet de structurer une veste.

- Elle ne doit pas forcément être portée droite, elle peut être légèrement « chiffonnée » pour plus de fantaisie.
