Prendre soin de ses costumes est essentiel pour garantir leur longévité et leur apparence impeccable.

VOICI QUELQUES CONSEILS POUR EN PRENDRE SOIN :

#1 Ranger correctement : Utiliser des cintres rembourrés, de préférence en bois, pour maintenir la forme des épaules et éviter les déformations. Éviter les cintres en métal qui peuvent laisser des marques. Ne laissez jamais votre veste de costume sur un dossier, sur un lit ou pire, à terre... Le costume pourrait se déformer. Pendez toujours de préférence vos pantalons par le bas. Le poids de la taille tire le pantalon vers le bas et fait disparaître les faux plis.

#2 Alterner les costumes : Ne pas porter le même costume plusieurs jours d'affilée. Cela permet aux fibres de se détendre et de retrouver leur forme. Idéalement, laisser un costume au moins 48 heures de repos entre deux ports.

#3 Brossez systématiquement votre costume après l’avoir porté dans la journée : utilisez une brosse à poils souples et naturels pour ne pas abîmer le tissu. N’oubliez surtout pas les rebords du pantalon. Ce sont en effet de véritables réservoirs à poussière et saletés.

#4 Nettoyer les taches : En cas de tache, agir rapidement en utilisant un chiffon propre et humide pour tamponner la zone. Éviter de frotter trop fort pour ne pas abîmer le tissu. Pour les taches plus tenaces, utiliser un détachant spécifique pour le tissu.

#5 Nettoyage à sec : Privilégier le nettoyage à sec plutôt qu'un lavage fréquent à la machine. Cela aide à conserver les couleurs et la texture du tissu. En général, faire nettoyer son costume à sec tous les 4 à 6 ports, selon l’usage. Attention, si vous portez un pantalon trop longtemps sans le nettoyer, les plis dus au port se décoloreront par la lumière du jour mais aussi par la transpiration. Ils resteront visibles par la suite.

#6 Repassage : Repasser le costume à basse température, en utilisant un tissu de protection comme un torchon ou un linge pour éviter de brûler le tissu. Pour un meilleur résultat, utiliser un défroisseur à vapeur qui permet de détendre les fibres sans contact direct.

#7 La bonne housse : Ranger les costumes dans une housse en tissu pour les protéger de la poussière tout en permettant la circulation de l'air. Éviter les housses en plastique qui peuvent retenir l'humidité et causer des odeurs.

#8 Contrôle régulier : Vérifier régulièrement l'état des costumes pour détecter des signes d'usure, comme des coutures lâches ou des boutons manquants, et procéder aux réparations nécessaires rapidement.

#9 Éviter les odeurs : Pour prévenir les odeurs, aérer le costume après chaque port en le suspendant à l'extérieur pendant quelques heures.
