Quid des retouches ?

D’un point de vue général, il est plus pratique et moins risqué de retoucher en rétrécissant un vêtement un peu grand plutôt de l’agrandir en prenant le risque de ne pas laisser assez de tissus pour les coutures. Il est en effet très facile de recintrer une veste. En revanche, la demande inverse est plus risquée…

Il est important de noter que certaines retouches ne sont pas possibles sur tous les types de vêtements. Par exemple, la plupart des pantalons de costume sont conçus avec des bas non finis, permettant à chacun de régler la longueur de la jambe selon ses préférences. Toutefois, on ne peut pas rallonger les vestes en raison des limitations de montage des fentes et du bas arrondi des devants. Il est cependant tout à fait possible de raccourcir une veste ou de rallonger et raccourcir les manches jusqu'à une certaine limite (jusqu’à +2,5 cm). Les retoucheurs peuvent enlever les fausses boutonnières de manche et en créer de nouvelles si l’on souhaite des boutonnières ouvertes.

Comme pour les coiffeurs, il n’y a pas de bons ou mauvais retoucheurs ! L’important est de connaitre le vôtre, de passer du temps avec lui et de l’éduquer sur vos propres obsessions. Il deviendra vite un allié précieux !
