Différencier les costumes d’hiver, d’été ou de quatre saisons

S’habiller suivant les saisons est un art qu’il importe de maitriser pour être bien dans ses vêtements quelles que soient les circonstances.

De par ses propriétés thermorégulatrices et respirantes, c’est l’étoffe la plus adaptée pour la fabrication de costume à porter en toutes saisons. Pour peu qu’il soit 100% laine, le costume s’avèrera capable de vous garder au chaud l’hiver et au frais l’été.

La laine la plus adaptée pour ces costumes 4 saisons est la laine peignée (worsted wool) : solide et durable, elle peut être selon les tisseurs plus ou moins légère ou épaisse selon l’usage qu’on lui réserve. Chez Fursac, nous utilisons le plus souvent des laines entre 240 et 260 grammes. L’armure la plus répandue pour ces tissus est l’armure twill ou sergé.

En deuxième position suit de près la laine tropicale (aussi appelée fresco ou laine froide). Plutôt de poids léger (220/250grs en moyenne), son tissage moins dense (armure toile) laisse passer l’air. Ce tissage bien que versatile reste plutôt utilisé sur les saisons Printemps-été. Toutefois, les saisons étant moins froides en Europe, les tisseurs tendent à revoir les poids et tissent de plus en plus sur des poids plus lourds permettant l’utilisation tout au long de l’année de ces costumes.

Hiver ou été ?

Certaines matières sont elles plus propices à l’hiver ! C’est le cas des laines cardées comme la flanelle ou le tweed, matières plus lourdes et plus épaisses.

La flanelle a, par exemple, une finition particulière qui lui donne cet aspect duveteux et doux au toucher, particulièrement agréable par temps froid.

Le velours à grosses côtes, que l’on trouve en coton, en laine, en laine et cachemire ou encore en soie, est une autre bonne option pour les jours froids.

En été, privilégiez les matières végétales comme le coton ou le lin en 100%, en mélanges entre eux ou avec de la laine.

Nota Bene : de plus en plus les tisseurs proposent des mélanges coton/laine ou lin/laine sur des poids plus élevés qui peuvent être adaptés aux mois hivernaux.
